The firm was established in 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada, by Patricia Brown. In
September 1997, Shannon L. Evans purchased the firm which continues under the
name Evans & Associates. Shannon Evans, William V. Brumley (Of Counsel) and
Robert Underwood (Of Counsel) provide transactional legal services and
consultation regarding areas of specialty in both Nevada and California. Our
attorneys are licensed in Nevada, California, D.C., Florida and Oklahoma.
Shannon Evans, Patricia Brown and Robert Underwood possess LL.M.'s (like a
Ph.D.) in Taxation.
Shannon
Evans
Admitted to the California Bar in 1990 and the Nevada Bar in 1991, and
obtained her Series 7 Securities License 1989-1991. Shannon graduated from the
University of Santa Barbara with a BA in Business and Economics in 1983 and the
University of San Diego law school in 1986. She earned her LL.M. in Taxation
from the University of San Diego in 1996.
Shannon was appointed by Congress to attend the Retirement Savers Summit in
Washington, D.C. in 1998. Many of the topics of discussion are now reflected as
changes in retirement plan distributions and portability.

William V. Brumley
(Of Counsel) Bill was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1947, and attended
Oklahoma Baptist University (B.A., 1973); University of Oklahoma (J.D., 1975);
and Denver University (LL.M.); Editor: Oklahoma Law Review (1974-1975); Chapter
19 "Qualified Plans and Deferred Compensation.," Mathew Bender, Modern
Estate Planning, 1994; Deputy Attorney General, Department of Taxation of
Nevada, 1978-1979. Bill is a member of the Fellow American College of Trust and
Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
Robert Underwood
(Of Counsel) Admitted to D.C. Bar in 1973, Florida Bar in 1996. Admitted to
practice in U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia
Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for District of Columbia, U.S. Court of Claims
and District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Graduated from North Carolina State
University in 1969 and University of North Carolina law school in 1972. Robert
received his LL.M. in Taxation from George Washington University in 1974.
